Espyville, Pennsylvania - Doris I. Patton, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 23, 2010. She was born on September 29, 1927, in Westford, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Sylvia T. (Schlecht) and Wilbur C. Cleland. Mrs. Patton was a 1945 graduate of Jamestown High School. On March 1, 1964, she married Ora F. Patton. She was a member of the Westford United Methodist Church. Mrs. Patton was dedicated to her church; she was a member of the United Methodist Women and taught the youngest Sunday School Class for over thirty years. Mrs. Patton worked at the Westford Store for over thirty-five years and helped with the Espyville Election Board for many years. She along with her husband were the custodians for over twenty years at the North Shenango Community Center, where she enjoyed playing bingo. Mrs. Patton bowled on a women�s league and also on a couple�s league. She also enjoyed traveling on Anderson Bus Tours, canning, flower gardening, doing crafts and crocheting. Mrs. Patton has crocheted over thirty Afghans for Warm Up America. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-four years, Ora F. Patton, who died in July of 2008; and a sister Almeta Cleland. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy A. (Richard) Davis of Conneautville, Pennsylvania; a son, David E. (Patty) Patton of Gasport, New York; two sisters, Thelma M. (Robert) Lahner of Wayne, Ohio and Alice L. (Alvin) Youngblood of Jackson, Mississippi; a brother, Warren Cleland in Jamestown, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio, with Rev. John F. Bargar officiating. Burial will follow in Espyville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 27th from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
