Dorothy George, 96 years old, of Andover, Ohio, died on Monday, July 5, 2004, at Burton Health Care Center in Burton, OH. Dorothy was born on December 12, 1907, to the late Ada (Cole) Carns and the late Mr. Carns. Formerly of Englewood, Florida, Mrs. George had lived in Andover, Ohio, since 1996. She had lived in Englewood since 1963, where she was a Nursing Supervisor for many years at Venice Hospital in Venice, Florida. Prior to living in Florida, Mrs. George had lived in Parkman, Ohio, since 1937. In Parkman, she was active in the Parkman Congregational Church, the Mothers Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Parkman Womens Fellowship, and the Parkman Board of Education. Mrs. George enjoyed traveling and making things out of seashells. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen George, whom she married in June of 1934, and 7 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Donald George of Andover, OH; her son, David George of Strongsville, OH; her son, Richard George of Charlotte, NC; her daughter, Allene Green of Tuscumbia, AL; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
