Douglas Ferraz Bacconi

d. June 26, 2011

Sharpsville, Pennsylvania - Douglas Ferraz Bacconi, age 30, died on Sunday, June 26, 2011 in Gustavus, Ohio, following a small aircraft crash. He was born on February 27, 1981, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the son of Delia (Ferraz) and Wagner Bacconi. Douglas graduated from school in Brazil and was an exchange student in Indiana. It was while Douglas was here as an exchange student that he fell in love with the love of his life Abbey Leigh Miller, whom he married on July 17, 2004. For the last eleven years Douglas farmed both here and in Brazil. He worked for W.I. Miller & Sons of Gustavus, Ohio. He and his wife were owners of Bacconi's Lickety Split, an ice cream shop in Johnston. He was a fireman for the Gustavus Volunteer Fire Department. Douglas enjoyed cooking his famous Brazilian BBQ, traveling with his wife and girls; he loved the beautiful beaches of Brazil, enjoyed cheering for his favorite Futebol team, Sao Paulo, and making beer and wine with his Mother in Law. Douglas had a sense of humor, wit, and sarcasm that few could match. Most people knew Douglas for his charming smile and infectious energy that just made life around him a joy. His love for his "3 Little Princesses" was truly inspiring and would take your breath away. Douglas is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandfather. Survivors include his wife of six years, Abbey L. Bacconi; three daughters, Alinee J. Bacconi and twins, Stella J. and Sofia J. Bacconi all at home; his parents, Delia and Wagner Bacconi of Tiete, Brazil; two sisters who were both exchange students in Kinsman, Ohio, Daniela "Dani" (Luis) Bacconi-Campeche of Petrolina, Brazil and Mariana "Nana" (Paulo) Bacconi-Muniz of Sao Paulo, Brazil; paternal grandma, Norma Bacconi of Sao Paulo; the exchange students who lived with Douglas and Abbey, Willy Alvim and Rayssa Oliveira; his mother and father In-Law; Patricia and Robert Miller, of Gustavus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Sarah (Mickey) Moyer of Hartford, Ohio and brother-in-law, Benjamin (Lisa) Miller of Gustavus, Ohio, three nieces who live in Brazil, one niece and three nephews who live here in the states.
