Dr. Ernest Kaszar

Dr. Ernest Kaszar, 77 years old, of Dorset, Ohio, died on Saturday, June 19, 2004, at home, after an extended illness. He was born on April 7, 1927, in Wayne Twp., Ohio, to Nicklas and Julia (Lechli) Kaszar. He graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1945. A World War II veteran, he joined the army after graduation and served as a medic stationed in Germany and Austria. He married Joyce Narhi on January 1, 1950. Dr. Kaszar graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1954 and maintained a practice in Dorset until his retirement in 2000. He was a past member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Kaszar was a long time supporter of the 4-H Youth. In 2003, the Ashtabula County Fair Board voted to name a show barn at the fairgrounds in his honor for his years of service to 4-H Clubs. Dr. Kaszar was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Nicklas and Joseph Kaszar, and three sisters, Mary Mohr, Bertha Kaszar, and Wilma Niederst. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Kaszar of Dorset, OH; his son, Larry Kaszar of Andover, OH; his daughter, Suzanne Kaszar of Worthington, OH; his daughter, Sharon (Tom) Musgrave of Akron, OH; his son, Jon (Barbara Jordan) of Wayne Twp., OH; grandchildren, Nichol and Rachel Musgrave of Akron, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Per his wishes, Dr. Kaszar will be cremated. His family will receive friends on Friday, June 25, 2004, from 5p.m. to 8p.m. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St. Andover, Ohio. Private burial services will be held at a later date.
