Williamsfield, Ohio - Edna May Schultz, age 101, died at home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, October 31, 2024. She was born on August 21, 1923, in Eltham, London, England, the daughter of Gwendolyn Isabel (Sams) and Alexander John McCulloch. Edna did all her schooling in London and met her future husband in London during World War II. She traveled alone leaving her parents and sister behind as she began a new life in Duluth, Minnesota. There, she married Frank Schultz, on September 15, 1948. Being a military wife led her to live in many places across the United States. While stationed in Washington D.C. she volunteered at St. Elizabeth's Psychiatric Hospital. On completion of military life, Edna and Frank moved to be near Frank's family in Erie, Pennsylvania, and ultimately settled in Andover, Ohio, in 1963. Edna became the Pymatuning State Park Campgrounds manager for many years, retiring in 1985. She was a longtime member of the 1st Congregational United Church of Christ in Andover. Edna had a love for reading and was known for doting on her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Ruth Reeve. Survivors include her son, G. Mark Schultz and his fiancée, Andree Tullier, of Annapolis, Maryland; her beloved grandchildren, Nathan, Margo, and Jennifer (Matt), her niece Yvonne, 2 nephews Brian and Alan (Doris) and her best friend and companion, Linda Young, of Williamsfield, Ohio.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the 1st Congregational United Church of Christ, 170 East Main Street, Andover, Ohio 44003, with Rev. Susan Francis officiating. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the church at PO Box 177 Andover, Ohio, 44003.
