Edna M. Stevens

EDNA M. STEVENS, age 88, of Gustavus township, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Andover, Ohio. She was born April 28, 1919, in Greene township,Ohio, the daughter of Clarence D. and Suzie (Titus) Hartman. A lifetime Gustavus resident, Mrs. Stevens was a 1937 Gustavus Centralized School graduate and she was employed as a cook for Gustavus Schools for many years. She was a long time member of the Gustavus Federated Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Aid. She also was a long time member of the Mother's Club. Mrs. Stevens enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, farming with her husband, and spoiling her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Frederick G. Stevens, whom she married August 16, 1940, of Gustavus; her daughter, Jane (Bill) Corson of Wayne township, OH; her son, Rick (Marlene) Stevens of West Mecca, OH; ten grandchildren; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Jeff Stevens and Jesse Stevens; and a brother, Andrew Hartman. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, OH, with Rev. Karl Bucey, of the Gustavus Federated Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Gustavus Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, February 3rd from 3 to 5 P.M. at the funeral home.
