Edward J. Clute

Edward J. Clute, age 83, of Kinsman,OH, died Monday, November 10, 2014, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born March 1, 1931, in Cortland, OH, a son of Henry and Vera (Grimm) Clute. A lifetime area resident, Mr. Clute was a 1949 graduate of Kinsman High School and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Clute was employed by Sawhill Tubular Wheatland in Farrell, PA, for 29 years, retiring in 1993. He was a long time member of the Vernon United Methodist Church, where he served as a Trustee and on the Parsonage committee. Mr. Clute was a 32 degree Mason having served as Past Master; and was also a member of Eastern Star. He was a long time member of the Harry Lees American Legion Post #506 Kinsman. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and spending time with his family. For the past fourteen years Mr. Clute especially loved spending his winters with his wife in North Fort Myers, Florida. Mr. Clute is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bertha (Rice) Clute, whom he married July 20, 1957, of Kinsman; his grandson, Bryan G. Clute of Niles,OH; his granddaughter, Ashley M. (Jeremy Cromley) Clute of Braceville, OH; his great grandson, Keegan E. Cromley; and his sister, Janet (Robert) McCrimmon of Kinsman. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Bryan E. Clute on June 3, 2006; his sister, Dorothy Fenn; and two brothers, William and Donald Clute. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 6:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH, with Pastor MaryAnn Rufener officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM. A private interment will take place in Kinsman Cemetery.
