Edward J. Holstein, Sr., age 84, of Dorset,OH, died Tuesday, April 17,2012, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. He was born July 30,1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of John and Anna Christine (Ulgary) Holstein. A lifetime area resident, Mr. Holstein was employed as a truck driver for the former A.C. Transport for 43 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Teamsters #377 for 43 years. He enjoyed attending antique engine shows, doing carpentry work, and tinkering. He loved the outdoors and nature; and was a collector of many things. Mr. Holstein married Ila Mae (Flack) on December 9, 1951; and she preceded him in death on Oct. 29, 1998. Also preceding him in death are his parents; an infant son, Mark Eric Holstein; a son, Clyde A. Holstein; one brother, William Holstein; and four sisters, Nora Babcock, Esther Alinen, Norma Phile, and Eleanor Alinen. He is survived by a daughter, Anna Marie (Tim) Frasher of Beaumont, TX, two sons, Edward J. (Kathy) Holstein, Jr. of Jefferson, OH, and Roger P. (Gloria) Holstein of Fountain Run, KY; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends in honor of Edward will be held on Saturday, April 21st from1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover,OH.
