Edward E. Switzer, age 59, of Andover, Ohio, died Friday, October 9, 2009 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren,OH. He was born April 17, 1950, the son of E.E. "Doc" Switzer and Grace E. (Thayer) Switzer. A lifetime Andover resident, Mr. Switzer retired as Master Sergeant after more than 22 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. He was a long time substitute rural mail carrier; long time employee at Ted's BP station in Andover; and served as a member of the Andover Volunteer Fire Department; an EMT; and Fire Inspector. Mr. Switzer was a member of the Andover Christian Church; and was a member of Pymatuning Valley Schools' Crisis Response Team. His hobbies including operating ham radios. Mr. Switzer is survived by his wife, Rebecca J. "Becky" (Slater) Switzer, whom he married June 30, 1984, of Andover; his son, Tim Switzer of Andover; his daughter, Karen (Carl) Bradley of Andover; his three grandchildren, Carson, Mylee, and Quinten Bradley; his brother, John "Jack" (Janice) Switzer of Brunswick,OH; his sister, Janice Switzer (Dennis Abbuhl) of Andover; his sister-in-law, Vicky Switzer of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Thad Charles "T.C." Switzer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Andover Christian Church, Stillman Ave., Andover, with Pastor Robert Gears officiating.
