Orwell, OH- ELIZABETH S. JOBES, 91, of Orwell, Ohio, died Thursday, December 21, 2006, at Serenity Manor in Orwell, Ohio. She was born June 19, 1915, in Gustavus, OH, a daughter of John Calvin Sears and Cora (Kegarice) Sears Porter. Mrs. Jobes graduated from Gustavus High School in 1933 and married Oliver Wendell Jobes, Sr., on November 11, 1934, in Gustavus. They moved their family to Orwell in 1956. She was a member of the Gustavus Federated Church and then the Orwell United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Gustavus Grange, the Trumbull County Chapter and the Mahoning County Chapter of the National Historical Society, Pioneer Families of Trumbull County, The First Families of Ohio, and was past Grand Noble of Rebekah Lodge 773 in Orwell. Mrs. Jobes enjoyed cooking, crafts, her grandchildren, and chair caning with her husband. Survivors include four daughters, Grace Eleanor (Lauren) James of Mt. Gilead, OH; Charlene Adell (Robert) Rigg of Braceville, OH; Georgia Alice (Don) Artman of Champion, OH; and Linda Louise (David) Moore of Orwell,OH; two sons, Oliver Wendell Jobes, Jr. of Orwell,OH; and William Randolph (Connie) Jobes of Leavittsburg,OH; a sister, Vesta (Samuel) McVay of Champion, OH; 12 Grandchildren; and 18 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver W. Jobes, Sr. in 2002; a daughter, Elizabeth Jane Jobes in 1991; and a sister, Garnet Fenn in 1992. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH, with Rev. Jim Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in Gustavus Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, December 26th from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
