Dorset, Ohio - Elizabeth M. â�œBettyâ₝ Petrus, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 17, 1928 in Barberton, Ohio, the daughter of Barbara (Lazar) and Paul Hydu. Formerly of Perry, Ohio, Elizabeth married Louis A. Petrus on June 5, 1948. Together they owned and operated Resthaven Campgrounds and the Sportsmanâ�™s Inn, both in Andover. She was a member of the Andover Christian Church. Mrs. Petrus was a Poll worker for Andover for many years. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, doing puzzles and spending time with her children, grandchildren and her dog Aspen. Mrs. Petrus is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis A. Petrus who died on August 29, 2008; an infant granddaughter Heather Marie Petrus; three sisters, Berthie Smith, Marie Scheibelhoffer and Margie Mallinak and three brothers, Joseph, Paul and John Hydu. Survivors include four daughters, Linda L. Petrus, Nancy A. (Terry) Jenkins of Andover, Ohio, Claudia A. (Robert) Reynolds of Dorset, Ohio and Betty L. Kolehmainen of Andover, Ohio; two sons, Alan L. (Jane) Petrus of Kernersville, North Carolina and Steven A. Petrus of Andover, Ohio; a sister, Annie Henline of Barberton, Ohio and a brother, Steven Hydu of Wadsworth, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and a great great grandson. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 6:30pm at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio with Pastor Robert Gears officiating.
