Ella E. Overly-Newport

ELLA E. OVERLY-NEWPORT, age 93, of Howland, Ohio, died Monday, February 6, 2006, at Shepherd of the Valley, Howland, Ohio. She was born in Suoni, Finland on January 20, 1913, the daughter of Victor and Maria (Heikkila) Kukkola. She immigrated to the U.S.A. with her mother in July of 1916. Formerly of Youngstown and Kinsman, Ella was a long time Williamsfield resident. She graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1930. She and Lloyd Overly were married Dec. 30, 1930, and moved back to the Williamsfield area in the mid-1950's. Ella was a homemaker and thoroughly enjoyed her children and grandchildren, and was a member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church. Ella is preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd Overly, on August 2, 1989; a daughter, Marguerite Brown; a sister, and five brothers. Ella is survived by her husband, Howard R. Newport, whom she married March 9,1993, of Howland, Ohio; daughter, Marilyn (Robert) O'Leary of Canfield,Ohio; two sons, L. Wesley (Joyce) Overly of Canfield,Ohio, and L. Wayne (Frances) Overly of Andover,Ohio; three step daughters, Becky (Charles) Barr of Clyde,Ohio, Susan (James) Papp of Springfield,Ohio, and Nancy (John) Davis of Kinsman,Ohio; two sisters, Irene Ukkonen of Parma,Ohio,and Marian (James) French of Williamsfield,Ohio; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren complete her family. A funeral service will be on Saturday, February 11, 2006, at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, OH, with Pastor Jim Brandis officiating. Burial will take place in Williamsfield Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
