Ellen D. Smith

Williamsfield, Ohio - Ellen D. Smith, age 99, died on June 11, 2009 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on April 25, 1910, in Andover, Ohio, the daughter of the late John H. and Ethel H. (Jones) Culver. Mrs. Smith drove school bus for Williamsfield Schools for many years before going to work for Target Stamped Products of West Williamsfield, Ohio. She was employed by Target for over twenty-five years, retiring in 1975. Mrs. Smith was a lifetime resident of Williamsfield and enjoyed making crafts. She is preceded in death by her husband, Homer E. Smith; a son, Ellis W. Racey; a daughter, Elsie M. Wilcox; a step-son, Walter Smith, a sister, Myrtie Hawkins and a great granddaugher, Kimberly Fraback. Survivors include six grandchildren, Sharon (Lloyd) Buterbaugh of Williamsfield, Ohio, Sandra (Arl Lee) Giddings of Wayne, Ohio, Robert (Sherida) Wilcox of New Lyme, Ohio, Shirley Gavey of Wayne, Ohio, Donald Wilcox of Chillicothe, Ohio and James (Jodi) Wilcox of Middlefield, Ohio; one niece Marie (Keith) Nelson of Middlefield, Ohio; 13 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; 6 great great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 15, 2009 at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio at 11:00 AM with Jason Hockran officiating.
