Ermal Inez Fenn

Champion, Ohio - Ermal Inez Fenn, age 100, went home to be with the Lord on her 100th Birthday, Saturday, September 5, 2015. She was born in Cortland, Ohio, a daughter of Edna Florian (Drake) and Lester Roy Swick. Mrs. Fenn was a 1933 graduate of Kinsman High School, and was an avid basketball player during her high school years. A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Fenn married Karl Chester Fenn on July 1, 1936. She was a member of the Harvest Christian Assembly of God in Warren, Ohio and enjoyed attending Bible studies. Mrs. Fenn was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning and fishing. But most of all she loved to be with her family and was known to catch the most fish even though she was snoozing. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of fifty-five years, Karl C. Fenn; an infant son, Clarence Fenn; a grandson, Steven Thompson; a sister, Lois Swick; five brothers, Gale, Merele "Si", Jack, Donald and Rollin Swick. Survivors include two daughters, Roberta R. Thompson of Louisville, Kentucky and Janice E. (Leroy) Griffis of Newton Falls, Ohio; a son, Virgil K. “Sonny” (Marlene) Fenn of Cortland, Ohio; a sister, Leona Stredney-Fisher of Warren, Ohio; a brother, Ivan Swick of Niles, Ohio; seven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Pastor Ron E. Biehl officiating. Burial will follow in West View Cemetery, in Vernon, Ohio. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, September 8th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
