Eugene A. Carder, Sr., 78 years old, of Andover, Ohio, died on Saturday, January 15, 2005, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, Ohio. Eugene was born on August 6, 1926, in Wyatt, WV, to the late Earl Carder, Sr., and Ruth (Johnson) Carder of Shinnston, WV. Formerly of Cleveland, Mr. Carder had been a long time Andover area resident. He was employed as a truck driver for Garland Floor Company in Cleveland, retiring after 26 years. He attended the Leon United Methodist Church. Mr. Carder married Arlene G. (Spellman) on June 3, 1992. Preceding him in death are his father; his daughter, Cheryl Carder; his son, Robert Carder; a brother, Earl Carder, Jr.; and two sisters, Annalee Johnson and Betty McEntyre. He is survived by his wife, Arlene G. Carder of Andover, OH; his son, Gary Carder of Richmond, KY; his son, Joe Carder of Pittsburgh, PA; his son, Roger Carder of Cleveland, OH; his daughter, Pam Effersin of Pittsburgh, PA; his daughter, Libby Carder Grice of Cleveland, OH; his son, David Carder of Cleveland, OH; his son, Eugene Carder, Jr. of Andover, OH; his step son, Brian Dubey of Pierpont, OH; his step son Angelo Chuppa of Andover, OH; his step son, Robbin Blair of Dorset, OH; his mother, Ruth (Johnson) Carder of Shinnston, WV; his four sisters, Violet Patrick of Willoughby, OH; Louise Jones of Shinnston, WV; Nancy Golden of Shinnston, WV; and Clarabelle Paugh of Shinnston, WV; many grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Burial will take place in Padanaram Cemetery, Richmond, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
