Evelyn Irene Manes

Evelyn Irene Manes, age 87, of Andover, Ohio, died September 9, 2013, at Jefferson Health Care Center. She was born July 13, 1926, in Mesopotamia, Ohio, a daughter of Virgil W. and Lelah (Maurer) Grenter. Mrs. Manes was employed by Jefferson Manufacturing for many years, retiring in 1987. She was a long time member of the Andover VFW Post #9519 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Manes enjoyed Country and Western music; and as a dairy farmer for many years she enjoyed showing registered Holstein cattle. Mrs. Manes married her husband, Harold C. Manes, on October 22, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1995. Also preceding her in death are her parents; two sons, Paul C. Manes and Tommy H. Manes; two granddaughters, Christina M. Manes and Tammy K. Manes; one grandson, Roy “Lee” Matthews, Jr.; and two sisters, Vivian Golembiowski and Fern Lenyo. She is survived by two daughters, Bonita J. Cika of Sneedville, TN, and JoAnn Morrow of Glen Rose, TX; and many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great-great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 5:00 PM to7:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover,OH.
