Kinsman, Ohio - Floyd Hines, age 92, died on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on March 17, 1922, in Farmdale, Ohio, a son of Hazel (Shaffer) and Arthur Hines. Mr. Hines served in the United States Army during World War II in the 305th Infantry, 77 Division. He served in the Western Pacific and the Southern Philippines having been awarded a Purple Heart. On December 12, 1947, he married Mabel E. Oglibee. Mr. Hines worked at the former Kraft plant in Kinsman, Ohio for over twenty years. He enjoyed hunting, bird watching, doing yard work, taking walks and being with his family and friends. Mr. Hines is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of forty-seven years, Mabel E. Hines; twin sons, Thomas & Terry Hines; three sisters, Helyn Fry, Leila Stevens and Ada Smith and three brothers, Martin Hines, Anderson "Butch" Hines, Howard Hines, and Loren Hines. Survivors include his daughter, Leona L. Moyer of Adamsville, Pennsylvania; a son, James A. Hines of Johnston, Ohio; a sister, Louise H. Shaffer of Cortland, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Christine, Michelle, SkyElaine, Jason, Randy, Brandon and Adam; ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Kinsman Cemetery Chapel.
