Frank Ondo

Frank Ondo, age 87, of Cortland,Ohio, died Monday, November 7, 2011, at Lake Vista in Cortland. He was born April 21, 1924, in Greenville, Pennsylvania, a son of Mike and Mary (Stefanko) Ondo. A resident of Cortland for the past six years, Mr. Ondo was a former long time Kinsman resident. He was a 1942 graduate of Kinsman High School. Mr. Ondo retired from Ohio Edison in 1985 after thirty years of service. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kinsman; and a member of the Knights of Columbus. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling. He was an avid gardener and an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns, Cavs, Ohio State University Buckeyes, and the Badger Braves. Mr. Ondo married Lillian N. (Innocenzi) on May 24, 1952; and she preceded him in death on June 29, 1996. Also preceding him in death are his parents; seven brothers; three sisters; and one granddaughter, Christine Moore. He is survived by his son, Joseph Ondo of Orlando, FL; his two daughters, Judy Moore of Kinsman,OH,and Ann Marie Ondo of Cortland, OH; two granddaughters, Michele Deraway and Nicole Kidwell; and four great grandchildren, Brent, Justin, Emma, and Kelsey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 6397 St. Rt. 87, Kinsman,OH, with Rev. Kevin McCaffrey officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 9th from 4 to 7 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, OH.
