FREIDA M. BRENNER, age 83, of Cortland, Ohio, died Sunday, January 20, 2008, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, Ohio. She was born February 3, 1924, in Andover, Ohio, the daughter of Clyde H. and Anna M. (Boeldt) Robinson. A life time Andover resident, Mrs. Brenner had moved to Cortland three years ago. She was employed by Harry Lev and Associates for eleven years managing the Andover Apartments; she worked for Country Neighbor in Andover; and she was a professional seamstress, designing and creating bridal gowns and more. Mrs. Brenner was a member of the Andover Christian Church, the former Andover Church of Christ. In 1983 she received the ZONTA award in Ashtabula for the "Salute to Women". Mrs. Brenner was instrumental in helping handicap people in Ashtabula County by having handicap ramps and sidewalks built at several locations. Mrs. Brenner married Fred W. Brenner on April 1, 1950. He died June 21, 1981. Also preceding her in death are her parents; two sisters, Edna M. Rickard and Ruth Daggett; her step daughter, Marjorie (Brenner) Fitzgerald; and her step son, Frederick W. Brenner II. She is survived by three daughters, Linda L. Pennell of Youngstown, OH, Cheryl M. Brenner of Andover, OH, and Mary A. Thompson of Fort Plain, New York; one son, William F. Brenner of Jamestown, PA; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Andover Christian Church, Stillman Ave., Andover, with Pastor Robert Gears officiating. A fellowship luncheon will follow the service in the Family Life Center behind the church. A private burial of cremated remains will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover. Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio, handled arrangements.
