Greenville, Pennsylvania â�" Garnet A. Pohl, age 78, died Sunday, December 2, 2007, after an extended illness. She was born on August 19, 1929, in Kinsman, Ohio, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Koonce) Garlock. Mrs. Pohl was a 1947 graduate of Kinsman High School. She waited on customers, baked and cooked for Nancyâ�™s Cozy Café�© of Kinsman, where she retired in 1999. She was employed for many years at the former Islayâ�™s of Kinsman, and she later worked at Kinsman Laundromat. On November 2, 1956 she marred Joseph â�œCorkyâ Pohl. Mr. Pohl preceded her in death on February 18, 1969. Mrs. Pohl enjoyed playing bingo, reading, sewing and gambling. She is also preceded in death by a sister Edith G. Letcher. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jo (Richard) Roberts of Greenville, Pennsylvania, and Betty Jean (Marty) Houk of Kinsman, Ohio; four sisters, Sally Anne Wajda of Johnston, Ohio, Hazel L. Ambrose of Kinsman, Ohio, Allie Grace (Clyde) Stevens of Kinsman, Ohio, Dixie G. Yeager of Stuart, Florida; a brother, Karl A. (Mary Alice) Garlock of Kinsman, Ohio; three grandchildren, Lisa R. Roberts, Mark Alan DeBack, and Charity DeBack; and great grandchildren, Reagan Lew and Star Jordan. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 4:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Pastor Kent Bell officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be in Kinsman Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be from 3:00 PM until the time of services.
