Gary L. Britton

Gary L. Britton, 55, of New Lyme, Ohio, died Wednesday, August 24, 2005. He was born on December 26, 1949 to Darwin Lyle and Wanda Marie (Smock) Britton. A long time New Lyme resident, Gary was a 1967 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School. He married Kathleen Waid on July 29, 1967. Gary was the owner & operator of Britton Farm Drainage and a crop farmer, along with his sons and wife. He founded the drainage business in 1982. Gary was an avid sports fan, never missing a game played by the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers or Browns. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Gary is preceded in death by his father, and a sister Pamela Rae Britton, and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen of New Lyme, a daughter Paulette M. (Eric) VanCourt of Pickerington, Ohio; two sons, Gary L. Jr (Nicole), and Timothy L. (Valerie) Britton both of New Lyme, his mother Wanda Britton of Crawfordville, Florida; a brother R. Rex (Janet) Britton of Andover, a sister Diane M. (James) Curlee, of Crawfordville, Florida and four grandchildren. Mass will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 103 North Maple Street , in Orwell, Ohio with Rev. Gregory Fedor officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 26, 2005 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio.
