Gary I. Thompson

Gary I. Thompson, age 68, of Andover, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at the St. Joseph Emergency Center in Andover. He was born January 15 ,1947, in Ashtabula, OH, a son of Robert Thompson and Audrey (May) Dietrich. A lifetime area resident, Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served from February 7, 1966 until April 30, 1981. He served in the Vietnam War and in Peacetime. He was self employed doing electronic repair and worked many odd job including construction with his brothers. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Andover and the American Legion. Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Erma M. (Miller) Sisley Thompson, whom he married October 3, 1994, of Andover; his two sons, Gary I. (Pam) Thompson of Meadville, PA, and Robert R. (Melissa) Thompson of Linesville, PA; his step son, John (Sue) Sisley, Jr. of Williamsfield,OH; two step daughters, Barbara (Brent) Fusselman of Andover, OH, and Deborah (Jim) Hladik of Jupiter, FL; 13 Grandchildren; his father and step mother, Robert (Betty) Thompson of Frazier Bottom, WV; a brother, Richard Thompson of Dorset, OH; a sister, Roberta (Bob) Huber of Bend, OR; a brother, Ernest Thompson of Andover, OH; and a brother, Arden (Doreen) Whitt of Marion,OH. He is preceded in death by his mother. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, May 26th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
