Kinsman, OH--- Genevieve E. Hyde, 89, of Kinsman, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Burton Health Care Center in Burton, OH. She was born December 15, 1918, in Gustavus, Ohio, the daughter of Lowell V. and Loma (Jewell) White. Mrs. Hyde was a 1937 graduate of Gustavus High School where she played on the high school softball team. She was a cheerleader for four years and was a piano player for the high school orchestra. She loved to do the Charleston and won in competition two consecutive years at the old Kinsman Fairgrounds. Mrs. Hyde was a member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church for sixty-eight years, where she held the office of Deacon and was a member of the Woman's Organization, Ruth Circle. She loved to bake bread and through the years baked over 3000 loaves for the annual K.P.C. bazaar. She baked pies for the old Colonial Tea Room and was also employed by the former Glauber Brass Co. in Kinsman. She also drove school bus for Fairhaven Schools. On December 23, 1939, she married Herbert W. Hyde, and he passed away August 1, 2000 after sixty years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Timothy Welland Hyde; a sister, Maxine Houser; and a brother, Robert V. White. Mrs. Hyde is survived by her daughter, Kay E. (James) Powell of Burton,OH; her three sons, Robert A. Hyde of Kinsman, OH, Nelson V. (Patricia) Hyde of Bazetta township, OH, and Terry W. Hyde of Farmdale, OH; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. A funeral service celebrating Mrs. Hyde's life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH, with Rev. Larry Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, November 6th from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home and on Friday, November 7th from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services.
