Andover, Ohio - George J. Broadfoot, Jr., age 75, died on Thursday, March 25, 2010. He was born on August 28, 1934, in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, the son of Margaret (Devlin) and George J. Broadfoot Sr. Mr. Broadfoot was a 1952 graduate of Swissvale High School. True Temper formerly of Ashtabula employed him and then he worked for the former Andover Industries for over fourteen years and retired in 1997. Mr. Broadfoot was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Unity, Pennsylvania. On February 11, 1961 he married Judy A. Sheaffer. He was a past Master of Triandria Masonic Lodge F & AM No.0780 of Rock Creek, Ohio, past Patron of the Order of Eastern Star Covered Bridge No.591, he was a Dad Advisor of former DeMolay Chapter of Kinsman, Ohio, a charter member of the FOE Pymatuning Aerie Eagles No. 4035 of Andover, and was a member of the Ashtabula County Antique Club of Wayne, Ohio. Mr. Broadfoot enjoyed being and attending Flee Markets and collected and built Lionel Train sets. His parents precede him in death. Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Judy A. Broadfoot of West Andover, Ohio; a daughter, Pamela R. Holifield of Akron, Ohio; two sons, George J. Broadfoot, III of Reading, Pennsylvania and Thomas J. (Arlene) Broadfoot of Andover, Ohio; three granddaughters, Erin, Anna, and Morgan Broadfoot; two grandsons, Shawn and Christopher Broadfoot and a great grandson Gabriel Jordan. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 2:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Masonic services and Eagles services will also be held.
