Colebrook, Ohio - George D. Ritenour, age 75, died on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at his residence in Colebrook with his family by his side. He was born on February 20, 1931 in Connellsville, Pennsylvania to George D. Ritenour Sr. and Lillian (Johnson) Ritenour. A longtime Colebrook resident, Mr. Ritenour served in the United States Army. A self employed carpenter, Mr. Ritenour was a christian man who attended the First Congregational Church of Wayne. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and going hunting and fishing. Mr. Ritenour married Violet E. Leigh on November 4, 1951. His wife of fifty years died on May 14, 2001. Also preceding him in death are his parents, a sister, Evelyn Brazon; and two brothers, Donald J. Ritenour and Dale Ricter. Survivors include two daughters, Kathy S. (John) Farmwald of Colebrook, Ohio, and Sharon A. (Clifford) Francis of Clarks Mills, Pennsylvania; a son,Gary G. (Lee) Ritenour of Colebrook, Ohio; a sister, Betty Jean Morris of Garrettsville, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Congregational Church of Wayne, corner of St. Rt. 193 and 322, Wayne Township, OH, with Pastors Robert and Lori Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Colebrook Cemetery. A luncheon will be held following the burial at the Wayne Community Center. Calling hours will be Thursday, February 8th from 5 to 7 P.M. at the church.
