KINSMAN—George “Bud” Ogilbee, 86, of Kinsman, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at St . Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Bud was born April 26, 1929, in Kinsman, to Kenneth J. and Effa Koonce Ogilbee, and was a lifetime resident of Kinsman. As a youth he supported himself by working and plying various trades for many area farmers and businesses, including Mac Davis, Mac McKinley, Bower and Taylor Construction Company, and Mrs. MacKernan of the Colonial Tea Room on the square in Kinsman. Throughout his life Bud remained deeply grateful for the kindness, generosity, and understanding of the residents of his home town. He was a 1947 graduate of Kinsman High School, after which he became a telegrapher and dispatcher for the New York Central Railroad. He then worked as a machinist for the American Welding and Manufacturing Company in Warren, from which he retired. Bud was a skilled meat cutter, accomplished bread baker, devoted beekeeper and award-winning quilt maker. Of later years he enjoyed trap shooting. Survivors include his wife, Betty (Stevenson) Ogilbee, whom he married on July 9, 1950; his sons Alan (Cheryl) Ogilbee of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Mark (Caroline Lee) Ogilbee of Hartland, Vermont; three granddaughters, Jessica Ogilbee, Stephanie Ogilbee, and Scout Lee-Ogilbee; and three siblings, Joan Peterson of Mecca, Ohio, Harold Ogilbee of Zephyrhills, Florida, and Leroy Ogilbee of Castle Rock, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond Ogilbee and Robert Ogilbee; and three sisters, Mary Etta Vogel, Jane Bloss, and Mabel Hines. At Bud’s request, there will be no public services or calling hours. The family requests that material contributions be made to the Kinsman Public Library, 6420 Church Street, Kinsman, OH 44428; the Kinsman United Methodist Church, PO Box 218, Kinsman, OH 44428; or to the charity of their choice. Arrangements were handled by Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service of Kinsman, Ohio with an online guestbook at www.baumgardnerfuneralhomes.com
