Kinsman, Ohio - Grace Ford Banning, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on July 6, 2009 with her family by her side. She was born on March 29, 1915, in Williamsfield, Ohio, the daughter of Seymour B. and Sarah M. (Fee) Ford. Mrs. Banning was 1932 graduate of Williamsfield High School. On June 18, 1935, she married Ward Earl Banning. She was a lifelong member of the West Williamsfield First Congregational Church. Mrs. Banning was a member of the Kinsman Chapter #433 Order of Eastern Star, the Williamsfield Grange #1654 where she served as the grange's lecturer for over twenty years, a member of the Williamsfield M.A. Society, and the Williamsfield Mothers Club. She was a dynamic and active member of many community and social activities. She had a great love for music, enjoyed painting, knitting, crocheting, baking, cooking, was a beautiful seamstress, did her own flower arranging, and owned her own ceramic shop. Mrs Banning demonstrated an unending love and tenderness for animals throughout her life. Mrs. Banning is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of fifty years, Ward Earl Banning; two sisters, Beth Davidson and Eleanore Rowland; and a son-in-law Edward John Hnida. Survivors include three daughters, Beth E. Hnida of Williamsfield, Ohio, Jane E. (Donald) Lucarell, and Mary Anne Banning both of Kinsman, Ohio; a grandson John E. Hnida of Williamsfield; a granddaughter, Natalie E. (Rob) McIntosh of Middletown, Ohio; a great granddaughter Hannah E. Hnida; and two grandsons Erik I. Hnida and Kellen E. McIntosh; two nieces, Anne (John) Rowland Pereira and Lois Coryea; a son-in-law Robert (Edwina) Payne of Andover, Ohio; and a devoted friend and caregiver Dianne (Verne) Campbell. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio with Pastor Oscar Grant officiating. Calling hours will be on Saturday from Noon until the time of services. Burial will follow in West Williamsfield Cemetary.
