Grace E. McFarland

Grace E. McFarland, age 85, of Vienna, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Windsor House at Champion. She was born Oct. 22, 1924, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the daughter of William J. and Ethel M. (Driehorst) McFarland. Formerly of Wheeling, WV, and Mecca Township, OH, Ms. McFarland lived in Vienna with her childhood friend and caregiver, Phyllis Smith, and Phyllis's great nephew, Christopher (Wendy) Gibson, and great great niece, Isabelle. She was employed as a machine operator by Wheeling Stamping for forty-three years retiring in 1987. Her hobbies included reading and playing Bingo. Ms. McFarland is survived by her two sisters, Eleanor Mae Atkinson of Valley View, WV, and Mildred L. Spurlin of Wheeling, WV; two nephews, Donny Atkinson and William Spurlin; one great niece; and one great nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents;one brother, William J. McFarland, Jr.; and one nephew, David Atkinson. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of services. There will be a graveside service on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with calling hours starting at 10:30 at the Greenwood Cemetery chapel, 1526 National Rd., Wheeling, WV.
