Kinsman, Ohio - Guy W. Jackson, age 78, died on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, Pennsylvania. He was born on August 8, 1933 in Marlinton, West Virginia a son of Lula (Smith) and Walter Jackson. A 1952 graduate of Marlinton High School, Guy served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955. A Kinsman resident since 1955, Guy worked at Packard Electric in Warren for forty years and retired in 1995. He was a lifetime member of the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department a member of the Harry Lees Post No. 506 of the American Legion of Kinsman, a charter member of the Kinsman Inland Lakes and the Kinsman Conservation Club. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and bowling. Guy was an avid gardener and sports fan of the Badger Braves, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. On February 27, 1954 he married Joyce Eileen Dreer. After fifty-one years of marriage she preceded him in death on July 4, 2005. He is also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Oris and Alfred Jackson. Survivors include his four daughters, Becky A. (Mark) Collins of Vernon, Ohio, Phyllis L. (Ron) Tingler of Kinsman, Ohio, Sandy G. (George) Allen of Champion, Ohio, and Sharon R. (Terry) VanKanegan of Kinsman, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Jessica (John) Williamson, Tom (Wanda) Collins, Annette (Kenny) Schick, Mark Collins, Craig (Stacey) Allen, Stephanie Tingler, Cory (Michelle) VanKanegan, Ryan Tingler, Tara VanKanegan and Brittany Allen; three great grandchildren, Nicole Wolfe, Mackenzie Collins, Ainsley Schick and one on the way; three brothers, Howard (Anna) Jackson of Kinsman, Ward (Wilda) Jackson of Warren, Elmer (Helen) Jackson of Elkins, West Virginia; three sisters, Evelyn (David) Sparks of Marlinton, West Virginia, Betty (Chuck) Krumpe of Kinsman and Eleanor (Clifford) Hamrick of Mill Creek, West Virginia. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, December 13th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of services.
