Harold "Buzzy" Berry

Cortland, Ohio - Harold W. "Buzzy" Berry, age 73, died on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Cortland Health Care Center. He was born on March 25, 1940, in Harpersfield, Ohio, a son of Marilyn A. (Saulters) and Harold R. Berry. Buzzy was a 1959 graduate of Kinsman High School. A longtime Gustavus resident, Buzzy served in the United States Navy and worked for the former Kraft Foods of Kinsman, Ohio. On September 15, 1979 he married Nancy L. Saltzmann. He was a member of the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department and EMS for many years. Buzzy enjoyed collecting fire department models and memorabilia as well as John Deere collectables. He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, George G. Gray and step-mother, Mildred Berry. Survivors include his wife of thirty-four years, Nancy L. Berry of Cortland, Ohio; a daughter, Kimberly L. (Nick) Gaylog of Johnston, Ohio; a half-brother, Milton (Michelle) Berry of Harpersfield, Ohio; two half-sisters, Karen Suttliffe of Syracuse, New York and Sue Hostettler of Lynchburg, Virginia and three grandchildren, Buddy, Summer and Hannah. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH, with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Gustavus Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 23rd from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
