Williamsfield, Ohio - Harold Morris Reed, age 93, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at St. Joseph Emergency Center in Andover, Ohio. He was born on December 25, 1922 in Richmond, Ohio, a son of Carrie Jane (Leiby) and Jay Walter Reed. Mr. Reed was a 1941 graduate of Andover High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II, spending a year in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. On September 21, 1941 he married Marian Ellen Page. Mr. Reed was the maintenance supervisor for Ashtabula County Road Department and formerly worked for Vanhuffel Tube of Warren, Ohio. He was a member of the West Williamsfield Cong rational Church, the Wayne and Richmond Grange’s and of the Pioneer Picnic of Pierpont, Ohio. Mr. Reed was a part of the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department for over fifty-two years. He was known for fabricating boats and horse trailers and tinkering with tractors and later took on smaller projects like building bird houses. Mr. Reed is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty-five years, Marian Ellen Reed; a son, David W. Reed; a grandson, Dean Reed; two, infant grandsons; a great grandson, Kaleb Weldy; a sister, Mildred Teatsort and three brothers, Floyd, Donald and Walter Reed. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Lee (Keith) Dillon of Williamsfield, Ohio and Tamara “Tami” J. Barnard of Dorset, Ohio; a foster daughter, Emma Fiscus of St. Petersburg, Florida; a foster son, John (Joan) Russell of Cherry Valley; ten grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; twenty great-great grandchildren and a sister Elizabeth M. Koivisto. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:00 am at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 20th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department 3787 State Route 322, Williamsfield, OH 44093.
