Harry M. Moore, age 89, of Andover, Ohio, died Saturday, April 17, 2010, at home. He was born May 19, 1920, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a son of Harry G.A. Moore and Audrey F. (Richardson) Moore. A resident of Andover since 1983, Mr. Moore was formerly of Pittsburgh. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy in the submarine forces. He was employed as an electrician by Duquesne Brewery in Pittsburgh; and retired from the Harry Guckert Company in Pittsburgh in 1982 after seventeen years. Mr. Moore was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Andover; and was a life member of the VFW Post #9519 Andover since 1985. He also was a life member of the American Legion Post #866 in Emsworth, PA, since 1946; and a life member of the Military Order of the Cootie Pup Tent #68 of Geneva, OH. His hobbies included fishing, bowling, hunting, woodworking, and gardening. Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Edna (Keogh) Moore, whom he married Nov. 22, 1974, of Andover; his four sons, Harold Moore of Pittsburgh, PA, Thomas (Maryanne) Moore of Las Vegas, NV, Harry (Donna) Moore, Jr. of Derry, NH, and David (Linda) Moore of Pittsburgh, PA; one step son, William (Susan) Hamilton of Smyrna, TN; three step daughters, Barbara (Edward) McCabe of Allison Park, PA, Lynn Charley of McKees Rocks, PA, and Kathleen (Michael) Donaldson of Windsor, OH; one brother, Richard Moore of Atlanta, GA; 15 Grandchildren; and 1 Great Grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Elizabeth J. (Bissig) Moore; one son, Donald Moore; and step son, Kenneth Hamilton. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church, 181 S. Main St., Andover, Ohio, with Rev. Vernon Palo officiating. Military rites will conclude the service by the VFW Post #9519 Memorial contributions may be made to the church, C/O Building Fund, P.O. Box 207, Andover, OH 44003.
