Helen E. Bahler, age 91, of Kinsman, Ohio, died Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles, OH. She was born February 11, 1919, in Trail, Ohio, a daughter of Fred and Elise (Lengacher) Schneiter. Formerly of Akron, Mrs. Bahler was a long time Kinsman resident. She was employed as a bookkeeper for the A.G. Birrell Co. in Kinsman for over 15 years, retiring in 1984. She was an active member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, where she belonged to the Women's Group and served as an Elder, Trustee, and Deacon. She was a member of the Tourist Club; and her hobbies included reading, gardening, needlepoint, baking, cooking, and traveling. Mrs. Bahler is survived by her husband, A. Keith Bahler, whom she married July 5, 1941, of Kinsman; her two daughters, Karen E. (Ronald) Novak of Burghill, OH, and Christina H. Bahler-Schlessel of Rogers, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Brian Novak of Charlotte, NC, and Dana Novak-Messick of Whitmore Lake, MI; two great grandchildren, Henry and Oliver Novak-Messick; one sister, Elsie Crouch of Murray, KY; and two brothers, Fred Schneiter of Waverly, OH, and John Schneiter of Sun Prairie, WI. She is preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Harvey Schlessel; and two sisters, Lucy Schneiter and Mary Franklin. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 11 A.M. at the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St., Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. David R. Black officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, October 20th from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M.at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, Ohio.
