Helen R. Beatty, age 91, died at Geneva Memorial Hospital on Saturday, March 8, 2008. A Florida resident for the past thirty years, Mrs. Beatty just recently returned to the Ohio area. She was born on April 3, 1916, in Kinsman, Ohio the daughter of Bert Y. and Sarah (Kolson) Dorman. Mrs. Beatty was a 1934 graduate of Kinsman High School. She was employed by Packard Electric of Warren, Ohio. Mrs. Beatty was formerly of Beloit, Ohio, Clermont and Groveland, Florida. She attended Groveland Methodist Church and was a member of the Salem Elks Club. Mrs. Beatty had a great love for golf and was a member of the Groveland Country Club in Florida. She worked at the local "club house" of the golf course nearest her home at the time. Mrs. Beatty was known as an immaculate home keeper and enjoyed baking, especially wedding cakes and apple pies. She also enjoyed playing cards and loved animals, including her cats. On April 17, 1935 she married Homer C. "Jack" Beatty. Married for sixty six years, he died on January 25, 2001. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Emily Hanawalt, and Florence Blystone; and two brothers, Henry and Delwin Dorman. Survivors include her primary caregiver and niece Christine Hanawalt Rosner of Jefferson, Ohio; Nieces, Shirley Dorman of Cortland, Ohio, Doris Stewart of Clermont, Florida, and Karen Marek of St. Francis, Wisconsin; and nephew, Bill Dorman of Massillon, Ohio. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. Larry A. Myers officiating. Calling hours will be held from 5:00 P.M. until the time of services. Burial will be in Bushnell National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
