Helen S. "Gobby" Brown, 85, of Ivy Hill Circle, Cortland, Ohio, died on Thursday, November 20, 2003, at her residence. Helen was born on February 28, 1918, in Rock Creek, Ohio. She was the daughter to the late William Saulter and the late Ethel (Currie) Saulter. Formerly of Kinsman, Ohio, Mrs. Brown has lived in Cortland for over 20 years. She was employed by the former Mahoning National Bank in Kinsman as a bank teller for 28 years. She then was a hostess at Abruzzi's Cafe 422 in Warren for 12 years. Mrs. Brown attended the North-Mar Church of the Christian & Missionary Alliance. Mrs. Brown was a mentor to several young ladies through the years, and she enjoyed the love and friendship of her sisters and the frequent outings they shared. Mrs. Brown also greatly enjoyed cooking for others and attending her great granchildren's sporting and dancing activities. Mrs. Brown married James E. Brown on September 13, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1972. Also preceding her in death are her parents and one sister, Marilyn Gray. She is survived by; her daughter, Trudy Scott of Cortland, Ohio; granddaughter, Amber (Tom) Wallace of Howland, Ohio; two great grandchildren, Drew and Logan; and three sisters, Virginia O'Hara of Warren, Ohio, Georgia Clemson of Rock Creek, Ohio, and Muriel "Beb" Myers of Kinsman, Ohio. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2003, at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. John A. Temple of the North-Mar Church officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 23, 2003, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
