Kinsman, Ohio-Helen Durr Marsh, age 88, died on Friday, February 19, 2010, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, Pennsylvania. The daughter of William and Ethel (Blair) Durr, she was born on July 27, 1921, at the home of her grandparents Ernest and Mary (Craig) Durr in Cortland, Ohio. Her family moved from Cortland to Vernon in 1938. In 1939, she graduated from Vernon High School where she met her beloved husband, Dewitt Marsh. They were married on January 10, 1942. During World War II, Mrs. Marsh worked at Crile Army Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a customer service representative and receptionist at the former Target Stamped Products of Kinsman, Ohio, retiring in 1986 after twenty-two years. Mrs. Marsh was a member of the Kinsman United Methodist Church and its Charity Circle. She also served on the church's memorial committee. As a member of the Chat and Patch, and the Kinsman 500 Club, she enjoyed socializing with her friends. An avid reader, she was a familiar race in the mystery section of the Kinsman Public Library. At home, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with the family dogs. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dewitt Marsh, who died in 1967; an infant son, Richard Dewitt Marsh, and two brothers, Wayne and Harlan Durr. Survivors include two daughters, Jane B. Marsh and Patricia A. Marsh both of Kinsman, Ohio. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at 5:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. David McKinnon officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.
