IRENE HELEN HARPER, age 90, of Andover, Ohio, died Friday, August 31, 2007, at Andover Village Retirement Community. She was born June 15, 1917, in Kenmore, OH, to Andrew and Julia (Huth) Lash. A long time Andover resident, Mrs. Harper was employed as a grocery clerk at Stop N' Shop and Bowdler's Market in Andover. More recently she worked for McDonald's in Andover. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Andover; and a member of the former Order of the Eastern Star #54, Floral Chapter, Andover. Mrs. Harper enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and reading. Mrs. Harper married her first husband, Wilburn H. Marr, on Nov. 23, 1940. He died in February 1963. She married her second husband, William H. Harper on November 22, 1964, and he died in November 1978. Also preceding her in death are her parents and one brother, Fred Lash. She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy J. (Dave) Thompson of Andover, OH, and Suzanne M. (Greg) Lynn of Pierpont,OH; one sister, Esther Pallant of Escondido, CA; two grandchildren, Doug (Stacey) Thompson of Honeybrook, PA, and Angie (Scott) Vyner of Springfield, VA; and three great grandchildren, Jacob Vyner, and Kelsey and Kendal Thompson. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Rocky Glen Cemetery, Adamsville, PA.
