Kinsman, Ohio â�" ISABELLE R. McANLIS, age 89, died on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at her residence. She was born on December 25, 1917 in Johnston, Ohio to Fred P. and Estella M. (Hall) Root. Mrs. McAnlis was a 1936 graduate of Johnston High School. A Kinsman resident for the past five years, Mrs. McAnlis was formerly a Howland resident for thirty years. She worked for General Electric in Cleveland and was a waitress for over ten years at the Cactus Grill in Howland. Mrs. McAnlis was a member of the Johnston Federated United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Women and was secretary/treasurer of the Martha Circle. She belonged to the Bayview and Johnston Literary Clubs, the Johnston Chit-Chat club, and was a leader in 4H for over ten years. Mrs. McAnlis enjoyed collecting glassware and cooking. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur L. â�œRoyâ Hogue whom she married in 1941. He died in 1962. She then married Edwin R. McAnlis in 1972, he died in 1991. Mrs. McAnlis is also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ivan L. Root. Survivors include a stepson Theodore M. (Barbara) McAnlis of West Palm Beach, Florida; a sister whom she resided with, Laurabelle R. (Lyle) Harsman of Kinsman; three brothers, William D. Root of North Royalton, Ohio, Lawrence D. (Norma) Root of Cortland, Ohio, Edgar M. (Ann) Root of Champion, Ohio, three step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral Home 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio with Rev. Jeffrey Coggins officiating. Burial will follow in Howland Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at the funeral home from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
