Ivan Moore

Ivan Moore, age 76, a lifetime resident of Ashtabula County, passed away on the morning of March 13, 2005, at approximately 1:15a.m. at Andover Village Retirement Community in the arms of his daughter and son. He was born April 12, 1928, in McDowell, Kentucky, to Profit and Julie (Stumbo) Moore. Mr. Moore was employed as an equipment operator for 31 years of dedication with the former Union Carbide Company of Ashtabula, retiring in 1981. He married his wife, Shirley L. (Fitzgerald) on November 12, 1966. Mr. Moore was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors. He especially loved his dog, Millie Marie. For many years he attended the Pentecostal Church of God pastored by Kenneth Roberts. Prior to that he attended Pastor Robert Falke's church. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Dallas Lee Moore on May 27, 1966; two brothers, Ed Moore and an infant brother, Jeff Moore; and two sisters, Bernice Moore and Vronsetta Cox. Mr. Moore is survived in loving memory by his wife, Shirley L. (Fitzgerald) Moore; ten children, Son, Ival Moore of Dorset, OH; daughter, Ivane Alex of Jefferson, OH; son, Michael Moore of Chillcothe, OH; daughter, Barbara Simmons of Chillicothe, OH; daughter, Debra Gannaway of Morrilton, AK; daughter, Joyce Lykins of Chillicothe, OH; son, Carlos Moore of Florida; daughter, Thelma Moore of Greenwich, OH; son, Clyde Moore of AZ; and son, James Moore of Ashtabula, OH; brothers, Roland Moore of Kentucky; Taylor "Duck" Moore of Andover, OH; Jake Moore of Kentucky; Wallace "Bo" Moore of Greenwich, OH; and sisters Peggy Heilman of Detroit, MI; Olab Tackett of Detroit, MI; Edith "Tee" Megdonoff of Detroit, MI; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at 12:00 noon at the Church of the Living God, 1030 Bunker Hill Road, Ashtabula, Ohio, with Pastor Robert H. Falke officiating. Calling hours will be held at the church from 11:00a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place following services at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva, Ohio.
