Jack Newell, age 79, of Williamsfield, OH, died Sunday, April 20, 2008. He was born April 8, 1929, in Vernon, Texas, the son of Oscar W. and Lula (Gibbins) Newell. Formerly of Carnegie, PA, Mr. Newell was a long time Williamsfield resident. He was a self employed electrician since 1994; and formerly worked for twenty years for the three VA Medical Centers in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Newell was a member of the Pymatuning Aerie #4035 Eagles, Andover; and a former member of the VFW. He enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, and watching golf, football, NASCAR racing, and old movies. He is survived by his wife, Alice E. (Campbell) Newell, whom he married July 29, 1952; one son, Jack W. Newell of Carnegie, PA; one daughter, Elaine Kay Newell of Espyville, PA; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Ryan C. Woodley; six brother; and two sisters. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 12:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH, with Pastor Pat Seger officiating. Burial will follow in Williamsfield Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 22nd from 6 to 8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
