James W. Harris

Richmond, Ohio - James W. Harris, age 66, died on Sunday, January 13, 2008, in Youngstown, Ohio, due to heart complications. He was born on April 30, 1941, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the son of Albert and Ella (McCloy) Harris. Formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Harris was a Richmond resident for over seven years. Mr. Harris work for the Finest Food Company of Cleveland for over fifteen years, before becoming a Cleveland Police Officer. He was a part of the Cleveland Police Department for over four years. Mr. Harris enjoyed doing carpentry work. He married Gladys M. Panagopoulos on November 24, 1998. Mr. Harris is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Evelyn McKinney, Viola Masto and Edna Marie Carpenter; five brothers, Richard (Dickie) Harris, Ophie Harris, Raymond Harris, Charles (Faye) Harris and Pete Harris. Survivors include his wife of nine years, Gladys M. Harris of Richmond, Ohio; a son Nicholas J. Harris, at home; three brothers, Albert (Jack) Harris of Cleveland, Ohio, George Harris of Grafton, West Virginia, and Tommy Harris of Michigan. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio.
