James L. Sheets

Kinsman, Ohio- James L. Sheets, age 65, died on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at the Louis Stokes VA hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born on December 7, 1946, in Van Wert, Ohio a son of Juno Beth (Smith) and Donald Leroy Sheets. Mr. Sheets was a 1964 graduate of Andover High School and attended Kent State University. He owned and operated Thunderbolt Aviation where he restored airplanes and muscle cars. He was a member of the Harry Lees American Legion Post No. 506 of Kinsman. Mr. Sheets enjoyed flying small aircraft and working on classic and muscle cars. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Donald Sheets. Survivors include two sons, James J. Sheets of Fairmont, West Virginia and Jeffrey M. (Sherry) Sheets of Kinsman, Ohio; three brothers, Bruce (Louise) Sheets of Queens, New York, Richard (Sharon) Sheets of Carrollton, Ohio and Raymond Sheets of Ravenna, Ohio and four grand children, Wyatt, Heidi, Magnus and Alexander. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 11:00AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Andover, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 10th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
