-Cherry Valley, Ohio- JAMES C. SKARLINSKY, 71, died on January 20, 2006 at his residence, with his family by his side. Formerly of Dorset, Mr.Skarlinsky was born on August 6, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio to Walter and Dolly (Rupp) Skarlinski. Mr. Skarlinsky served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a dairy and crop farmer for most of his life, also working for the former Andover Crop Service. Mr. Skarlinsky was employed for the Andover Bank, Ruck's Beverage and Complete Coverage Ag. over the years. He attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ of Andover. Nearly fifty years ago he married Ida A. Fenton on September 21, 1957. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and participated in the Brothers Bowling tour in Erie, Penn. for over 30 years. Mr. Skarlinsky enjoyed playing golf and cards, taking his chances at the slot machines, gardening and tending his yard, was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Jeannie Skarlinski and a brother Walter "Sonny" Skarlinski. Mr. Skarlinsky is survived by his wife of Cherry Valley; daughters, Cheri L. (Stephen) Jones of Williamsfield, Lori B. (Paul) Szalai of Monroe, Leslie A. (Barry) French of Andover, Kerri J. Skarlinsky of Brandon, Florida, Amy L. (Shane) Smith of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and a son Jeffrey J. (Stacey) Skarlinsky of New Lyme; a sister, Mary Grubb of Columbus, Ohio; brothers Robert (Beverly) Skarlinski, William (Louise) Skarlinski, Ronald (Karen) Skarlinski all of Ashtabula, Thomas (Sandee) Skarlinsky of Roaming Shores, grandchildren, Jessica, Aaron, Rachel, Matthew, Katie, Ryan, Joseph, Makenzie and great grandchildren Mardie, Gabriel, Saydi and Anthony Jr. Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 22, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
