James "Jim" Sterling Patterson

James "Jim" Sterling Patterson, age 53, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren,Ohio, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born May 30, 1956, in Warren, Ohio, a son of Floyd W. and Patricia E. (Shreckengosh) Patterson. A lifetiime area resident, Jim was a 1974 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School in Andover. He was employed by Oakwood Cemetery in Warren, Ohio. Jim enjoyed insulator and bottle collecting, fishing, and woodworking. Jim loved and lived for his daughters, Kathryn Patterson,18, Jessica Patterson, 16, and Alizabeth Patterson, 15, all of Johnston Township, OH. He is also survived by his special friend and mother of his daughters, Francy Shaffer, of Johnston Township; his parents, Floyd and Patricia Patterson, of Williamsfield, OH; and his four brothers, Roger (Patricia) Patterson, of Amisville, VA, Tim (Jennie) Patterson, of Warrenton, VA, Tom Patterson, of Williamsfield,OH, and John (Lori) Patterson, of Andover, OH. As Jim requested, there will be no viewing or services. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown,OH 44512.
