Williamsfield, Ohio - James L. Vlack, age 79, died at his residence on Monday, September 19, 2011. He was born on January 31, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Dorothy Marie (Baca) and Ladimer James Vlack. Mr. Vlack was a 1947 graduate of St. Benedict Catholic School of Cleveland, Ohio. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1959. Mr. Vlack was a railroad conductor for Conrail for thirty years and retired in 1994. He enjoyed operating a small family farm in Williamsfield, where his had resided since 1977. On May 15, 1950, he married Edith Aline Roser. Mr. Vlack is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Wienewski. Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Edith A. Vlack of Williamsfield, Ohio; two daughters, Suzanne M. (Michael) Holt of Mount Vernon, Ohio and Yvette A. Vlack of Alice, Texas; two sons, James F. Vlack of Dorset, Ohio and Michael V. Vlack; a sister, Joanne (John) D'Isidoro of Solon, Ohio; two brothers, Wayne and Ladimer Vlack and five grandchildren. Military services and burial will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at Noon, at Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
