James A. Wilcox

James A. Wilcox, Sr., age 85, of Wayne township, OH, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the Andover Village Retirement Community. He was born January 14, 1927, in West Salem township, Pennsylvania, a son of James A. and Edna (McLaughlin) Wilcox. A resident of Wayne for the past 70 years, Mr. Wilcox was employed by Feist Hardwoods in Newton Falls,OH, as a truck driver. His hobbies included woodworking; and he enjoyed reading. Mr. Wilcox married Elsie Wilcox on Jan. 13, 1947; and she preceded him in death in 1992. He is also preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Sharon Buterbaugh and Sandy Giddings; one son, Donald Wilcox; a granddaughter, Kimberly Fraback; and two brothers, Harry "Max" Wilcox and William Wilcox. He is survived by son, Robert J. (Sherida) Wilcox of New Lyme township,OH, daughter, Shirley K. Garvey of Wayne township,OH, son, James A. Wilcox, Jr. of Middlefield,OH; two son-in-laws, Lloyd "Butch" Buterbaugh of Williamsfield,OH, and Arl Lee Giddings of Wayne township,OH; long time friend and partner, Karen Hall of Wayne township,OH; 13 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandsons; one brother, Jake Wilcox of Cortland,OH; and one sister, Ann (Lee) Idle of Burghill, OH. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 12 ,2012 at 12:00 Noon at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover,OH, with Pastor Joel Dickson officiating. Burial of cremated remains will follow in Williamsfield Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
