Janet Mortensen

Janet Mortensen, age 75, of Linesville, PA, died Friday, December 9, 2016, at St. Paul Homes in Greenville, PA. She was born December 14, 1940, in Cleveland, OH, a daughter of Steve J. and Ann (Kostelnek) Kapis. A longtime Linesville, Pennsylvania resident, Janet was employed by Seeley Medical and Andover Industries in Andover, OH. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Linesville; and she enjoyed reading. Janet married Gerald "Jerry" A. Mortensen, Sr. on Jan. 8, 1959, and he preceded her in death on December 16, 2013. She is also preceded by her parents; her son, James Leo Mortensen; and two brothers, Robert and Thomas Kapis. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy A. (Ted) Litwiler of Andover, OH, and Teri A. (Denny) Kovanitz of Parma, OH; her three sons, Gerald A. "Skip" Mortensen, Jr. of Wooster, OH, Richard A. Mortensen of Andover, OH, and Jeffrey S. (Deanna) Mortensen of Alabama; her 14 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; her three sisters, Karen Dewey of Andover, OH, Kathleen Stockton of Titusville, FL, Chris Bleshoy of Citrus Springs, FL, and Linda Thomas of High Springs, FL; and her brother, Ronald Kapis of Rootstown,OH. No public service will be held. A private interment of her cremated remains will take place later in St. Philip Cemetery in Linesville, PA.
