Janet E. Wasik

Janet Elizabeth Artman Wasik, 94, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 in Rockville, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Mary E. (Hamilton) and Earl V. Artman. She was born in Cortland, Ohio on September 23, 1921 and lived all of her life in Kinsman, Ohio, until she moved to Maryland to be closer to family in 2010. She was a 1938 graduate of Kinsman High School and a 1944 graduate of the Ohio State University. Mrs. Wasik taught Home Economics and Science in the Trumbull County and Youngstown School Districts. She was married to Stanley Wasik. She was a lifelong member of Kinsman Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, Deacon and Trustee. Mrs. Wasik was a long time member of the board of the Kinsman Free Public Library and a member of the Bay View club, Eastern Star and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Stanley Wasik. Survivors include her son, Robert (Mary) Wasik of Gaithersburg, Maryland and her daughter, Margaret (James) Lanoix of Marco Island, Florida; her much loved four grandchildren, David (Jennifer) Wasik of Richmond, Virginia, William (Monica Murphy) Wasik of Brooklyn, New York, Andrew (Maureen) Lanoix of Acton, Massachusetts, and Jacqueline (Ronaldo) Lista of Quincy, Massachusetts; her beloved five great grandchildren, Benjamin and Allison Wasik of Richmond, Virginia, Emmett Wasik of Brooklyn, New York, and Michael and Peter Lanoix of Acton, Massachusetts. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 2:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio with Rev. Susan Francis officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 18th from Noon until the time of services.
