Cortland, Ohio - JANICE LOU HOUSER, 61, of Cortland, Ohio died on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Born on April 28, 1944 in Warren, Ohio to Virgil R. Houser Sr., and Maxine J. (White) Houser, Ms. Houser was a lifelong Gustavus resident. Ms. Houser worked for Country Hair Care for several years and was self employed as a cosmetologist. She was a member of the Gustavus Federated Church, the Johnston Civic Club and was on a bowling league in Cortland. She enjoyed doing crafts, painting ceramics, gardening, collecting butterflies and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents and a son Jeffery R. Hartman. Survivors include two sons, John R. Hartman, and Jerry R. Houser both of Cortland; daughter, Joleen R. "Jodi" (James) Starcher of Mecca; three brothers, Garry R. Houser, Denny R. Houser and Virgil R. Houser Jr. all of Gustavus; two sisters Gloria H. Engler of Leavittsburg, and Darlene K. Swick of Johnston; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Kasey, Brandon, Brittany, Brianna, Baylie, and Jimmy. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio with Pastor Mark Biel officiating.
