Janis A. Offutt

New Lyme, Ohio - Janis A. Offutt, age 71, died on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on May 20, 1941, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of Katherine (DiBell) and Robert A. Lane. On June 13, 1959, she married Donald Ray Offutt, Sr. Janis worked for Alphabet Company in Orwell for over five years and she then worked for the Pymatuning Resort in Williamsfield, Ohio. She attended the New Lyme Baptist Church and enjoyed baking. Janis loved to garden and had her own greenhouse to begin her plants. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ronald, Paul and David Lane; a great granddaughter, Lily Rose Dewalt and a great grandson, Matthew Lee Offutt. Survivors include her husband of fifty-two years, Donald R. Offutt, Sr., four daughters, Beverly J. (Richard) Cipra of Williamsfield, Ohio, Karen S. (Kevin) Casady of Livonia Missouri, Teresa L. (Roy Mosley) Offutt of Cherry Valley, Ohio, and April D. (Anthony) Urch of Kingsville, Ohio; two sons, Donald R. (Teresa) Offutt, Jr. of Cherry Valley, Ohio and Michael L. (Aimee) Offutt of Memphis, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; six sisters, Ruth Martin, Roberta Burdick, Kathy Braggs, Carol Snyder, Barbara White, Dolores Jones and one brother, Alan Lane. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow in Brownville Cemetery in New Lyme, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 30th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
